he importance of testing moisture in concreteConcrete slabs are an integral part of a building andexcess moisture in a slab affects the entire structure-- from walls, to floor coverings to interior decorations.

T

Why is the new RH in-situ moisturetest the preferred method over allpreviously used test methods.

1. An uncovered slab can be dry atthe surface, but st i l l retain highmoisture levels in the core.

2. Once the surface is covered orsealed, moisture inside the slab istrapped and over time redistributesitself throughout the slab. That re-sults in an increase of moisture atthe top of the slab.

Floor installers need to be sure thatno extra moisture is hiding in thecore of the slab.

3. The in-situ RH probes measuredeep enough to reach the mid sec-tion of a concrete slab. The RH testis now recommended by many floorcovering manufacturers, because ofits greater reliability.

4. Handheld pin/pinless metersshould only be used to show highand low moisture areas and not todetermine whether or not resilientfloor coverings should be installed.

5. The Calcium Chloride test canalso fail. This test only takes intoconsideration the top section of theslab; and the evaporation measuredby the test depends on the ambientrelative humidity around the slab. Inhigh humidity, a floor evaporatesless than in low ambient humidity.

RH BluePegSystem

Moisture Measurement andRelative Humidity Testingfor Concrete

Concrete Contractors andFloor Covering Professionals

RH BluePeg SystemThe RH Blue-Peg uses a single micro-chip, factory calibrated to NIST stan-dards. Each BluePeg comes with a NISTtraceable certificate. The RH BluePegProbes comply with the latest ASTM stan-dard for F2170.

For the first year, Lignomat offers to checkthe sensor calibration at no charge.

Better sealing,easier-to-place sleeves: L ignomat’ssleeves have feathered fins along theirentire length, which provide an excellentseal. The lip of the sleeve covers the areaaround the concrete hole and providesanother barrier for any air escaping. In-side the sleeve is a movable cylinder, which places the RH Probe every timeas required by ASTM F 2170. Standardsleeves require no cutt ing. 3” longsleeves available.

Better sealing, flatter caps:Lignomat’s caps come with an o-ring toabsolutely seal the sleeves. The capsare flat and do not interfere with any traf-fic around the test area.

Fast connection:A fail-proof, easy-connect 35mm stereoplug is used to connect RH probes. Notwisting, turning or setting-up an instru-ment for readings. No pin arrangementsneed to be fitted.

Most accurate read-out: Our Meter in-stantly shows the RH and temperature values. The reso-lut ion on Lignomat’s RH meters is 0.1% (0.10FC).No guessing or rounding up, the meter displays the mea-sured values.

Approved user-friendly

Lignomat’s RH BluePeg pobes are designed to complywith the latest ASTM F2170 standard. However, the stand-alone RHBluePeg probes with universal 35mm stereo con-nectors allow easy integration with other Lignomat’s mea-suring technologies.

1. Handheld meters with RH Technology: RH-only meter: Ligno-Tec RH RH-pinless meter: Dual-depth Ligno-Duotec BW RH-pinless- pin meter: Dual-depth Ligno-Versatec

2. On-site Data Loggers with RH Technology: RH-only BL2: records RH in 30 sec - 1 day intervals. RH and MC BL2: records one RH and 3 wood

moisture probes. Programmable for other materials.

3. Wireless transmitters with RH Technology: Single RH transmitter Double RH transmitter (2 independent RH probes) Single RH transmitter plus one MC probe Single RH transmitter plus MC and Temp probe

With Lignomat you have a choice.

You select the handheld meter, which best fits your needs. It could be the RH meter only, because you do not need to measure wood. It could be the Ligno-VersaTec, which can be used as pinless meter and pin meter with one of Lignomats electrodes.

- The data logger BL2 saves readings. To down-load readings the BL2 needs to be connected to a PC.

- The wireless transmitters are automatically up-datingmeasurements at an on-site PC or sending measurementsthrough the Internet to any PC.

Lignomat’s RH Packages:

- Concrete Package with Ligno-Tec RH meter- Flooring Package with Ligno-DuoTec BW meter- Inspector Package with Ligno-VersaTec and E12

Add more RH Probes and more sleeves at the time ofpurchase to get the package discount.

All in one package:

With the Ligno-VersaTec you can choose the rightmeasuring mode and the right accessories for the jobon hand. The Ligno-VersaTecs pinless mode allowsinstant concrete measurements to aid in selecting thebest RH Probe placement. Complies with ASTM F2659.

This meter comes with dual-depth measuring capa-bilities for all wood and concrete settings.
