The Arts curriculum includes five key disciplines that encompass the scope
and sequence that is The Arts
• Visual Arts
• Music
• Media
• Drama
• Dance(QSCC, 2002, p.1)
My first swish of the brush..
Even when I was little I liked to paint
It was a way to express how I was feeling
The schooling years….
I could use my imagination as I related to the world around me
In year 3 I created a 3D model of the Solar System for our Science fair
And my passion for painting came to life
My Grandmother was a strong influence onMy development of skill. She was a artistAnd taught me some wonderful techniques.
This was an award I won in year 8 in a school Art Exhibition
I began to try new forms and techniques
Year 7. Collage / Trash Art piece that responded to unhealthy eating habits at school
In year 10 I began to experiment with techniquesPastel Crayon Art, and Oil paints.
My Artistic Voice today
I began to reflect on what I had learned and to expand on my ideas of
Art forms
Glass cutting and moulding techniques
Working on using a variety of techniques to enhance my work
Charcoal Drawing Coloured wax pencil Oil pastels
Even fashion inspires me to create
My time as a Milliner
Where there is inspiration…
This photograph inspired me to respond to the world issue of poverty in my own work

I hope to inspire my students, and my own children to be bold, to
imagine, to design and create. To take risks and to use the arts to communicate their ideas and
feelings in a unique way…
