Assessment One: Occupational Concepts Portfolio.

Concept 1: Part two

My family are all into horse racing. We each have horses that we race and a couple of my uncles train them. I have been going along to the races

since I was a baby and continue to still go.

An occupation that I enjoy doing with friends and family is going out for meals. It is something that we do to spend time together and catch up.

I really enjoy going to music concerts and try to attend as many as I can. I have attended concerts in groups, as a couple and alone.

Travelling is an occupation that is very important to me. I have travelled most of New Zealand and spent 15 months overseas travelling

Fishing is an occupation that me and my family usually do on family holidays but have

started doing more regular at home. It is something we do

to spend time together.

Squash is a occupation that I have just started learning. I have been interested in playing for awhile but have only recently being given the chance to learn.

Rowing dominated most of my years at collage. I did it for 4 years at Cullinane Collage and is still one of my favourite sports or though I do not participate in it any more I still identify my self as a rower.

I am currently studying to be an occupational therapist at WINTEC in Hamilton. This makes being a student as part of my identity. This is my main priority at the moment and comes first over leisure occupations

Part of my identity is being a daughter, sister, cousin, niece and grand daughter so I have many occupations to do with my role in the family. For example as I am the oldest sister of three brothers it is my role to organise presents for each of these birthdays.

Going out to bars and dancing is an occupation that I enjoy doing most weekends with friends. It is something I do for leisure and to socialise with others.
