THE FIRST PLANT OF BHEL WAS SETUP AT BHOPAL IN 1956. BHEL POWER GENRATION TROUGH THERMAL , GAS , HYDRO & NUCLEAR POWER PLANT IS 65% OF THE TOTAL CAPICITY IN THE COUNTRY. THAT IS IT GENERATES 64737MW ACCORDING TO MARCH 2001WHILE TOTAL CAPICITY OF COUNTORY IN MARCH 2001 WAS 99146. BHEL PROVIDES1000MW UNIT RATING THERMAL SETS, 240MW GAS TURBINE GEERATOR & 235 TO 500 MW NUCLEAR TURBINE GEERATOR.THIS COMPANY IS THE MAJAR PRODUCER OF LARGER SIZE THYRISTOR DEVICES.BHEL HAS ATTAINED ISO9000 CERTIFICATION FOR QUALITY MANAGEMENT &ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION FOR EVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT.
