Building a reader friendly environment

The quotes

Aim: To foster the interest of students in

researching the quotes on reading for the purpose of convincing the students that reading is useful and meaningful.

What students can do with the quotes they select:

1. Each student chooses a quote and makes a book mark or poster, adding art work. Then teachers display them in the premises.

2. Each student writes one quote on the cover of the reading passport/ reading record file.

3. Quotes translation competition. Teachers choose some good quotes, ask all students to try to translate some into Chinese. Then the entries will be displayed later. This competition motivates students to think seriously about the meaning of the quotes.
