Looking for a great gift for someone you
love? We hope you'll drop by our Holiday
Bazaar on Friday, December 4 between
the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Town Center
Auditorium. Residents, associates, family members, and
outside vendors will have items for sale that may be just what
you're looking for. If you have handmade items or products
from your own independent business to sell, please consider
running a booth of your own. Call 382-3546 for details.
Watermark UniversityAs we enter the winter months in Michigan there are many days
that will keep us indoors. What better time to get our creative
juices flowing and make something crafty? Join Gloria Slater for her
Crafty Corner class on Thursday, December 10, to make one of these
adorable light-up snowmen! With a few simple supplies - all of
which will be provided, you'll put together a decorative night light
that will keep you smiling and bring warmth to those cold winter
nights ahead. We hope you'll join us!

The Inn
Buon NataleHoliday time is here again,
and this December we are
immersing ourselves in the
culture and food of Italy. Join
us as we celebrate Italian
culinary favorites in our meal
in the life theme meal on
December 17, as well as
classes and programs
featuring not only foods, but
music, film, craft, travel, and
other cultural aspects of the Italian people. Of course, December
will also feature all of those favorite holiday events you look
forward to from year to year, including our grand lobby tree
lighting, seasonal socials and musical events, including our own
Silvertones Ensemble concert on December 9, a Christmas Eve
Worship Service on December 24, and New Year's Eve celebrations.
Outings to the symphony, theatre, and special local exhibits will
put you in the holiday spirit, and of course, we'll do lots of
decorating, singing, and eating to celebrate this glorious time of
year. Buon Natale! Merry Christmas! And Happy Hanukkah!
Path to Well-BeingDecember is National Safe Toys and
Gifts Month. The U.S. Consumer Product
Safety Commission (CPSC) has created a
robust toy safety system, by requiring
testing; enforcing stringent lead and
phthalates limits for toys; imposing
stringent toy standards; and stopping
dangerous toys at the ports before they
reach children’s hands. Follow these toy
and gift safety tips this holiday season:
-Keep deflated balloons away from
children younger than eight years old.
Discard broken balloons immediately.
-For children younger than age three,
avoid toys with small parts, which can
cause choking.
-Provide helmets and safety gear along
with riding toys like skateboards and
inline skates.
-Immediately discard all plastic
packaging from toys and gifts.
ThrivingOn a Wednesday in early November, the Inn residents took advantage of
the unseasonable warm temperatures and ventured out on an adventure to
Crane's Pie Pantry Restaurant in Fennville, MI. The ride itself was a
pleasure as we viewed the last of the fall colors and the bright sunlight
reflecting on several lakes and rivers that we crossed. Once we arrived at
our destination, we were immediately taken in by Crane's unique
atmosphere from a stuffed dog who lived in the 1930s in the entryway to
the many various signs and antiques that lined the walls of the dining
area. We were very excited that one of our resident's daughter and son-in-
law were also able to join us for lunch! The food itself tasted delicious -
the hot and cold fresh apple cider were fantastic, as well. A few of us even
bought goodies to take home. Overall, we experienced a delightful day!
