Sleeping and Other Habits

Koalas are very picky about what they eat.

They are nocturnal and sleep for eighteen hours a day.

The baby’s are the size of a jellybean and takes about five minutes to get to its mother’s pouch.

When Koalas are older they ride piggy back or on its mother’s stomach.

Species and Original Homes

The largest is the Victoria and it lives in South Australia

The second largest is the New South Wales and it live in Southern Australia.

The smallest is the Queensland and it lives in Northern Australia.

This is the Victoria koala.

This is the New South Wales koala.

Features {looks}

Koalas have a stubby tail are pear shaped and chubby.

They have two thumbs and three fingers on each hand.

The females have a pouch have a pouch that opens upside down

Disappearances

Koalas have been killed or forced into different places.

They have been forced into human places.

They have been killed by motorists who don’t expect koalas their.

More Habitats

One of the koala habitats can be in parks or hospitals.

The other habitat is the wild.

People are chopping down the trees so koalas are losing their original habitat.

Amazing Facts

Some koala fossils were dated 20 million years old.

They eat eucalypt leaves and pretty much nothing else.

The closest relative is the wombat.

This is the closest living relative.
