    From source to citizen water in the southwest Perched above the Glen Canyon Dam, the Carl Hayden Visitor Center is a significant stop for visitors to Lake Powell and the canyon country region. It orients tourists to the many national parks and monuments in the region and interprets its fascinating natural and cultural history. The center is operated by the National Park Service (NPS) and the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR).

    APA is working with the NPS, BOR and their stakeholders to develop new exhibits for the popular interpretive center. Our design approach weaves together the geological and hydrological features of the region, with the changing ways in which humans and wildlife interact with the Colorado River, and makes the most of the centers spectacular views over Lake Powell.

    APA has completed a conceptual plan and a schematic design for the new exhibits and is now working on detailed design of the space.
