Parent/Student Digital Learning Handbook
● Guidelines apply to all students
● Offers specifics for daily schedules, programs used, roles of teachers and parents
● Created with guidance from the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon
Full time Digital Learning Schedule
● Instruction will occur 5 days per week.
● Families should expect their child(ren) to follow a regular, yet flexible school schedule routine
over the course of each day, Monday-Friday.
● A weekly schedule will be shared with parents and students each Monday via email and posted in
Google Classroom. This schedule will outline synchronous learning and expected assignments.
Full time Digital Learning Schedule
● A daily agenda will be shared with details of the synchronous and asynchronous schedule, posted
each morning for grades K-5. This will provide a user friendly breakdown of the
assignments/expectations for the day.
● Teachers will communicate with families to pick up instructional materials/packets or drop off
instructional materials via a car line. These will include materials for projects, workbook pages or
photocopies, etc. Families will be able to print materials if needed for safety.
● Office Hours will be held via Zoom M, W, Th for student questions.
OLL is required to follow state, ODE, and local guidance for a safe return
to school. We are actively monitoring the case numbers and positivity rates for Clackamas County. We are committed to returning to school as soon as safely possible.
Google Apps for Education
● All classes at OLL use Google Classroom as means to communicate learning material, assignments, and share information with students. Students access Google Classroom using their school G-Suite email address. All students email addresses follow the pattern: first name, last initial, graduation year @ ollstudents.org
● Students use Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets (all comparable to Microsoft Office products) to complete work.
● Students use their school Gmail account to communicate with teachers. Students are not allowed to email with other students or outside of our school domains.
Google Apps for Education
● Students in grades 3-8 have a school assigned Chromebook and charger.
● Students in grades K-2 are expected to use a home device. You do not need to download any special apps or programs other than the Chrome browser. OLL recommends a laptop or desktop computer in place of a tablet or iPad if possible.
● School devices are protected by two filtering softwares. School administrators can access all student histories, and students are unable to delete their histories. Filtering is not foolproof, and parent supervision and communication is the best safeguard for students on the internet.
