1.Openingofthemeeting.MonikaHagedorn-SaupeopenedtheAGM.2. Approvalofminutesfrom2016AGM.TheminutesfromtheAGM2016wereapprovedunanimously.

ReportfromCIDOC2016conference.Monikapresentedthemainresultsfromthe2016CIDOCconference.CIDOCmetduringtheTriennialICOMconferenceinMilano.ICOMpresentedthenewlogosforICOMandforNC/IC.AnewCIDOCboardwasintroducedattheconference.CIDOChelditsannualmeetingtoincludeplenaries,parallelsessionsandworkinggroups.TopicsincludedLIDO,longtermpreservation,andapaneldiscussiononUnescopersistguidelineslaunchedin2016byUnescoPersistcontenttask.Theconferencewassuccessfulinattractingover100participants.TheannualmeetingincludedafruitfulexcursiontoTorinowherecolleagueswereabletoexchangeinformation(thanksMaijaforfacilitating).4. ChairsreportMonikapresentedtheactivitiessincethelastAGMandpointedtoplansforthecomingyear:

• Anewboardstartedtowork.

• TheCIDOCboardvotedanonymouslytoaccepttheconferencevenueproposalCIDOC2018inHeraklion.

• CIDOCreporteddigitallytoICOM,usinganewdigitalformat.• AproposalwassentforajointconferenceCIDOCCOMCOLinBrazil.This

proposalwasapprovedandtheconferencewilltakeplaceinOctober2017inRiodeJaneiro,financedpartiallybyCentralICOM.AjointsessionmaybeexploredwithCOMCOLforCIDOC2018.

• CIDOChelditsfirstworkingboardmeetinginJanuary2017inBerlin.Theboardworkedjointlytostreamlinethewebsite,includingarevisionofdocuments,translationoftextsandothereditorialwork.

• SeveraloftheboardmembersworkedwithICOMGeorgiatopreparethisconference.

• CIDOCschairandsecretaryparticipatedintheICOMParismeeting,June2016atUnescoinParis,openedbySueyAxoynewPresidentofICOM.ThenewdirectorPeterKellerpresentedthenewroleoftheICOMadministration,namelytomergetwophysicaloffices,andtoimprovethemembershipdatabase.ThenewHQstaffwaspresented(membership,legaladvise,communications).

• ThechairsoftheICmettodiscussthestatusoftheICs.TherewasavoicedinterestinensuringproperarchivingoftheIChistory,andaproposalwasmadetosendallannualreportstoHQ.TheICsdiscussedrevisionofdelegationofauthority(butnoactivitysincethen).

• Monikawasaskedtobememberofthelegaladvisorystandingcommittee(HQ).

• Thechairoftheethicalcommitteepresentedtheirwork.Guidelinesfordeaccessioning,guidelinesforaccessioning,guidelinesforfundraisingandsponsorship.CIDOCwillbeinvitedtoprovidecommentsonstandardsandprocedures.

• MDPPMuseumdefinitionprospectsandpotentials,willconsidertheneedtomakechangestothedefinitionofmuseumstobestreflectthechangingfield.

• ITCinternationaltrainingcommitteeformuseumstudies,withtrainingcentersinChina,presentedanoverviewoftheirinternationallistofdocentsandofstudents.

• ICOM2019willtakeplaceinKyoto.• MonikawasinvitedtopresenttheworkofCIDOCandcollaborationswere

considered(jointsessioninKyoto),attheICOMMAMMilitarymuseumsmeeting.

CIDOChascurrently646members(anincreaseof1%fromthepreviousyear).ThemajorityofmembersarefromEurope(76%),followedbyLatinaAmericaandtheCaribbean(9%),AsiaPacific(6%),Africa(4%)andNorthAmerica(4%),andtheArabStates(1%).ThemembersoftheUSalonerepresent1%ofallmembers.

ICOMHQislaunchinganewmembershipdatabase.Untilthesystemisready,thedatabasehasbeenfrozen.CIDOCwasinvitedtobepartofacommissiontotestthedatabase(inthenextweeks).

6. Financialreport

CIDOCstotalincomein2016=€56,043.73ThemainsourcesofincomearetheGettyandICOM.CIDOCsmembercontributionsamountedto€6,662.Expensesin2016=€55,204.78ThemainexpensesarefortheCIDOCconference(bursariesandtechnicalsupport)andtheCOMCOL-CIDOCconference.7. Editor’sreport

CIDOChasdifferentformsofcommunicationwiththemembers.The2016newsletterwillcomeinafewweeks.Anewstrategyonsocialmediawasestablished(#CIDOC2017,Twitter,Facebook).CIDOCstartedtheconferencewith300followerswhichincreasedto482followersinTwitter(successofhashtag).AblogwaslaunchedinApril2017,withawiderangeoftopics.GettyFoundationbursarieswillcontributeforabloginthenearfuture.Theworktotranslatethewebsitetocoverallmaterialsinthe3officiallanguagesisunderway.TheSpanishtranslationshavebeenmadeandwillbeuploadedshortly.8. Archaeology:StephenSteadchairTheArchaeologyWorkingGroupmeetonceduringtheyear.WorkhascontinuedontheArchiveDepositionStandard.Themajorityofthemainbodyofthetextisnowcompletewithjustafeweditsstilloutstanding.TheAppendicesarebeingpreparedanditisexpectedthatafinaldraftforconsultationwillbereadybytheendoftheyear.ApresentationaboutthestandardwasgivenatanarchaeologyconferenceintheUKandpositivefeedbackwasreceived.WearenowusingtheFreedcamponlineprojectmanagementtooltomanagethefinaleditingprocess.Co-reference:MikaNymanchair(reportedbyEmmanuelle)Workingwithco-referencerequiresrelatingsignstothedynamicsofmind.Workisongoing.Ithasbeenaprocessofexplorationanddiscovery,includingpersistentidentifiers,integrationofcoreferenceconceptsinCRM,andcreatingsemiotictheoryforsemioticheritage.Anetworkofpartnershasbeenidentifiedtoexploretheseideasastraining,collaborationfromIran.CRMSIG:MartinDoerrchair

NicholasshowedtheCIDOCwebsiteoftheTrainingProgramandpresentedthescopeoftheprogram.The2017summerschoolwelcomed14participants.Reachingatotalof±100participants.TherewasatrainingplannedinMexico,whichhadtobecancelledduetotheearthquake.AneventwasorganizedincollaborationwithUnescoinCambodia.In2018,trainingprogramsareplannedinTexasandinEstonia.DiscussionsareunderwayforatrainingprograminCanada(French),andforatrainingprograminMexico.Apre-registrationoptionwillbeinstalledinthewebsitetogaugetheinterestoffutureparticipants.10. Therearefurtherstandardizationorganizationsthatdealwithinternationalstandards:e.g.CEN(ComitéEuropéendeNormalisation,Bruxelles).TheypublishENEuropeanNorms(Eurepeanstandards–coverageexceedstheEUandincludesfurthercountriesinEurope),publishedobligatorilyinEnglish,FrenchandGerman(andthensupposedtobetranslatedinalltheotherparticipating

Europeanlanguages).TheyhaveCommitteeCEN/TC346“Conservationofculturalproperty”onrestaurationandconservationissues.StandardEN15898provides50definitionsonthebasicconceptsinthisfield(“context”ofobject,“value”ofobject,“restauration”,“conservation”,“repair”,etc.)iscurrentlybeingrevised(firsteditionisfrom2011).

StandardEN17135(“Glossaryondamages”)onconservationwilldefinebasictypesofdamagethatcanoccurtoalltypesofobjects,regardlessoftheirmaterial(stone,metal,wood,glass,…).(Furtherpartsforindividualmaterialswillfollow.)Thisstandardisfaradvanced,itisalreadyoutasdraft.Willhaveshortdefinitionofeachdamagetype,withanimagetoillustratethedamage.Expectedforpublicationby2018.

CEN/TC346operatesaround50-60standardsaddressingindividualquestionsinconservation/restauration,rangingfromdeterminingwatervapourpermeability,throughcolourmanagementtosamplingprocedures,waterabsorptiontesting,dryingproperties,solublesaltsornaturalstoneandmortars.Particularly:
