“Wellbeing Toronto” - a new web-tool that measures community wellbeing across the City of Toronto's 140 neighbourhoods
provides a number of indicators that will assist in the monitoring of economic and social wellbeing by allowing users to custom select and combine indicators and see their results instantly on a map
designed to not only assist the public in a better understanding the diverse communities that comprise the City, but also as support tool for the development of policies and programs that require place-based perspective
Consolidates City operational metrics, socio-demographics and infrastructure service data, analyzes them and creates a series of composite indices for 10 well-being domains

Well-being Toronto: What is it?
Based on work for the Strong Neighbourhoods Task Force (2005), which resulted in 13 Priority Investment Neighbourhoods, the NWI will now focus on the ability to measure and monitor well-being across all the City’s 140 neighbourhoods
A collaborative open data approach
Demographic Data leveraged from other initiatives such as the Community Data Consortium

First version will go live in May/June 2011 and be updated on an annual basis.
Continuing to build an infrastructure that supports, provides, and consolidates standards for corporate-wide enterprise business mapping applications and data sharing (linking data resources throughout the Corporation)
Data sharing will take place on the website with reinforcing the linkage to the City’s Open Data Strategy http://www.toronto.ca/open/catalogue.htm
Complements existing map tools (TOMaps) and will serve as a foundation for future city web mapping, and vehicle for cross-cluster information sharing.
