MISSIONSTATEMENT

What we aim to do:

• To protect the environment and enhance thehealth of the communities of eThekwiniMunicipality by providing reasonable measuresfor the prevention of pollution and ecologicaldegradation. To ensure compliance andenforcement through an environmentallyacceptable, cost effective and sustainable wastemanagement service recognizing waste as avaluable source.

DSW’S KEY FOCUS AREAS :• Collection and transportation of domestic, commercial and

industrial waste.• Provision and management of wheelie bins and skips• Managing of landfill sites• Street cleaning and litter removal services• Education , Waste Minimisation and Recycling• Community waste management awareness and education

programmes• Research and development of new waste management

processes• Recovery and process of methane gas, naturally processed

in landfills, into an energy source of generating power.
