• Know the basic differences between Elluminate and IVS

Elluminate’s Primary DifferencesElluminate’s Primary Differences

• Anyone can join an Elluminate meeting from a desktop or laptop wherever there is internet connection– no need to drive to a specific location.

• No competition for scheduling—There can be numerous meetings scheduled for the same time. (They will occur in separate meeting spaces.)

• People need mics if they are going to talk and cameras if

they want to see each other in real-time.

• Capacities for polling, presenting, chatting in text, visiting websites, sharing documents, and recording the session are all possible through this one electronic space.

What Participants Need to KnowWhat Participants Need to Know

• Meeting Date and Time and link to meeting• Login directions and a password if you are using

one for the meeting• Recommendation to allow for a little extra time

for set-up before the meeting (10 min.)• That a mic that plugs into his or her computer is

needed if they are going to be heard• Who to phone if they can’t get into Elluminate • (Sample Email is available.)

• Greet people as they come online.

• Explain how to use the mic (one person at a time, click on mic, release mic so the next person can talk).

• Have everyone try their mics.

• Encourage people to share pictures.

• Briefly review the parts of the screen and tools such as hand-raising, and chat.

How to Upload PPTHow to Upload PPT

• Only Moderators can upload items

• Click on Folder Icon near the whiteboard

• You’ll be asked which screen you would like to load it into for viewing

• Click on Browse and select the PPT show from your desktop

One Way to Take NotesOne Way to Take Notes

• Click on notetaking Icon on upper toolbar (tablet with pencil)

• Take the desired notes.

• Export to a text file by clicking on File, and save as a .txt file to your desktop.

• You can further edit the notes and distribute it as a Word document or as email.

How to Record a MeetingHow to Record a Meeting

• At the bottom left of the screen, look for the

recorder icon. Click to begin, you can then click to

stop or pause the recording.

• To listen to the meeting at a later date:

Go to the Elluminate site and click on the meeting

date and then click on the “Recordings” Tab.
