We can count countable nouns.So we can use a/an for themEXAMPLES:A bird,an apple,an umbrella,a desk,a chair,a table,an orange,a child,a student etc..We can use a lot of(çok),some(birkaç),a few(birkaç)A few tables,a lot of students,some chairs etc..

UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

We can not count them,so we can not use a/an for them.But we can use some(biraz),a little(biraz),a lot of(çok)A little money,a little sugar,some butter,some honey,a lot of bread,a lot of jam etc..

Sayılamayan isimlerin önüne bir tane,iki tane gibi kelimeler getiremeyiz.

Bunun yerine bir paket,iki şişe,bir kavanoz,bir dilim,bir somun,üç kutu gibi miktar belirleyicilerden faydalanırız.Example:A bottle of milk.A packet of tea.Two cans of coke…….

A slice of pizza.

A loaf of bread.

Two loaves of bread.

A tube of toothpaste.

Two tubes of toothpaste.

A bar of chocolate.

A bunch of flowers.

A bowl of rice.

A jar of jam.

A jug of water.

A can of coke.

THERE IS/THERE ARE

‘Vardır’ anlamına gelir.There is a table in the class.

There is a bird in the cage.There are some chairs in my room.There is some sugar in the bowl.There is some money in the purse.There are ten apples in the basket.There is some milk in the bottle.There are some cookies on the plate.

Olumsuz yapmak için:

Olumsuz yaparken ‘There is not(There isn’t) ya da‘There are not(There aren’t) kullanırız.

There isn’t any water in the glass.There aren’t any bananas in the fridge.There isn’t any jam in the jar.There aren’t any birds in the cage.

Soru yaparken ise:

‘Is there’ ya da ‘Are there’ başa gelir:Is there a table in your room?

Is there any milk in the fridge?

Are there any apples in the basket?

Is there any honey in the jar?

Are there any umbrellas in your room?

Some genellikle olumlu cümlelerde kullanılırken,any ise olumsuz ve soru cümlelerinde kullanılır.Some(biraz,birkaç)anlamına gelirken any(hiç)demektir.

HOW MANY-HOW MUCH

How many kaç tane anlamına gelir.Sayılabilen(countable)isimlerle kullanılır:

-How many apples are there in the basket?

-How many oranges are there in the fridge?

-How many students are there in the class?

‘How much’ ne kadar anlamına gelir ve sayılamayan(uncountable)isimlerle kullanılır.

-How much sugar is there in the bowl?

-How much coffee is there in the cup?

-How much chocolate is there in the box?

-How much butter is there on the plate?
