M2 Datascience course presentation

Objectives• You will put your basic machine learning and data

analysis knowledge to test by:

• solving practical data science problems in scientific or industrial applications and by

• designing data science workflows.

Part 1: Data challenge

Part 2: Team project to build a workflow

Timeline• Full week : November 9 to 13 (except 11)

• Morning: Lectures (workflow, Pandas, feature engineering, hyperparameter search, advanced Python…)

• Afternoon: Labs (presentations, work on data problems)

• Project to build a machine learning problem (deadline in January)

Useful prerequisites

Evaluation

• Half of your grade will come from the data challenges (performance on leaderboard)

• Selected students will be able to present their solutions to the class, for up to 2/20 bonus grades.

• The other half will come from the team project
