ABOUT MODUS FACTOR -- Three of Toronto's busiest studiomusicians step back into the club circuit with MODUSFACTOR, all bringing their own considerable experience from 3different musical circles to the table to form a truly unique newelectronic outfit. Modus Factor, Lesso's brainchild, brings all 3of these musicians and their one-of-a-kind "electro-ambientimprovisations" on stage together creating uniquely exploratorysonic landscapes, setting the table for an expedition intomodern music that will resonate with sounds ranging fromMiles Davis to Frank Zappa to Antonio Carlos Jobim.

The Picasso Zone
is a Toronto, Canada based modern
electric groove trio led by in-demand session drummerand features multiple National Jazz Award-winning
trumpet player and Juno-winning SistersEuclid bassist . The trio's tagline is "electro-ambient improvisational bedlam", which befits their live showwell. BUT, interestingly, this debut recording "The PicassoZone" is less about mayhem, and more about nuance. Deepinteraction and collective musical interplay is the name of thegame on “ ”. With more than 75% of therecording being improvised, this album is an outstanding,high-minded example of the musical richness that can comefrom 3 kindred artists when they all create together andmove in a singular direction as improvisers. By makingenough room for each other, the creations presented on thisrecording are greater than the sum of the individual parts.
Though I've seen Modus Factor often categorizethemselves as "world music", I think a much more accuratedescription of them would be "OTHER world music".It's off-worldly and alien and weird and wonderful in all the
best possible ways.
