Steps include:

Improve the information to which people have access

NHS Five Year Forward View

• Technology – including smartphones - can be a great leveller and, contrary to some perceptions, many older people use the internet

• However, we will take steps to ensure that we build the capacity of all citizens to access information, and train our staff so that they are able to support those who are unable or unwilling to use new technologies

NHS Five Year Forward View

How• An expanding set of NHS accredited health apps

that patients will be able to use to organise and manage their own health and care

• The development of partnerships with the voluntary sector and industry to support digital inclusion
