If the marriage is to take placein another parish, only thewhite boxes need to becompleted. Complete all theboxes for the church where themarriage is to take place.

At least seven days’ notice isrequired before the firstreading of banns. Banns haveto be read on three Sundaysbefore the marriage.

(Section 3) If either of you willbe under the age of 18 on theday of the wedding, and hasnot been widowed, theconsent of parents or guardiansis required.

(Sections 4,11,12) TheChurch’s official rules do notpermit the marriage in churchof anyone who has beendivorced from a person stillliving.

(Section 6) Include the town,county and postcode.

(Section 15) This means theChurch of England parish inwhich you live. If either of youdoes not live in the parishwhere the marriage is to takeplace, you must arrange for thebanns to be read in your ownparish and obtain a bannscertificate.
