The Myth of Passion “There is no special passion waiting

for you to discover. Passion is something that is cultivated.”

--Cal Newport,

So Good They Can’t Ignore You

Myth 1: You ‘find’ your passion.

The Reality:

Passions are grown.

Myth 2: Passion strikes like a thunderbolt.

The Reality:

Passion is like love. It starts as an interest, but it takes work to make it work.

Myth 3: Successful people find passion first.

The Reality:

Most successful people became passionate about their work.

Myth 4: Passion = happiness & success.

The Reality:

Passion is more about meaning & fulfillment.

Myth 5: You’re stupid if you don’t know your passion.

The Reality:

It’s all about the journey. Caring to know the answer is

the first step.

So... How Should We Approach

Passion?

What is Passion?

“To Suffer”

What are you willing to suffer for?

Passion < Meaning
