KFC RESTAURANTRatana Plaza, Cambodia 2012COMMERCIAL PROJECT
Built Area: 128 m2
Ratana plaza, where diverse activities take place, has a very potential fast food de-mand. To make the best of the characteristic of the site, the KFC is designed to provide a fast dining service for the space users and to compete with the existing fast food stores. The solution for the new KFC is based on the key words: “fast” and “east”. The design will follow this keywords to create a fast dining atmosphere. By blending the ori-ental design elements into KFC contemporary style, it will create a symbolic design for KFC. The restaurant is designed for 2 groups of customer where primary are the visitors to the building. The secondary are the staffs working within the plaza and offices within the surrounding area who require fast take-away service.

CONCEPTThe aim of this project is to design the kfc fast food restaurant located at the corner of ratana plaza and hotel building. The objective is to propose an innovative solution to the kampu-chea food cor- poration who is the client. The design is to make kfc distinc-tive and make it the first kfc restaurant to break the standard kfc design. By incorporat- ing the western contempo-rary style and the ori- ental elements, the design get an inspiration from a new unique east-asia product that will make kfc compete better within the asian food market.

People who dine in or take away KFC products are always in a quick move-ment. From making orders to eating their meal, they do it very fast. And if the architectural aspect of the space is not obvious to them, they will certainly leave the store without noticing about the interior. The solution is to make ar-chitecture obvious to the customers that everything will hit their eyes when they step inside the space. By using level difference and large-size deco-rative objects, the architectural feeling will be delivered immediately to the space users. By using different levels of seating areas, it creates a sense of rhythm within the space, customers can “look” and be “aware” of things going on inside and outside of the space through the airy glass curtain. The seat-ing will also provide the privacy for each seating area.

INTERIOR VISUALISATIONThe fast-food restaurant has to maxi-mize the use of seatings and circula-tion to achieve the best possible commercial goal, the income. In order to do this, the furniture (both fixed and movable) are arranged to the minimum standard to provide not only comfort-able seating positions but also con-venient moving circulation.

TUBE-HOUSESaigon, Vietnam 2012RESIDENTIAL PROJECT
Tropical weather and restricted built area are the two most distinguishing characters when building a house in Saigon. This city has a restricted land law provided by the na-tional unban development and the weather is humid and hot all-year-round. By under-standing this matter, this project proposes a solution to build a modern tube house for a family with 4 inhabitants. The tube-house advantage is to provide enough convenient spaces for all the activities and to fit not only the Vietnamese owner ’s traditional lifestyle but also his family ’s demands for a modern life within this vibrant city. By creating in and out air-ventilation and natural sunlight, this tube-house is an ideal living space for the occupants who have to live and work in Saigon, where noise pollution and super hot weather can affect livign quality.
Built Area: 232 m2
CIRCULATION AND VENTILATIONTaking the advantage of the natu-ral sunlight to bring in the warm light source to the interior. Using air in-out circulation to create air ventilation for the house. The aim of this circula-tion arrangement is to create the most possible and convenient movement for all the inhabitants within the house. This give the best access to all the space and services within the interior. The stair is designed to be in one corner to re-duce the space it may take and leave a straight-up circulation for the rooms.

SHADOW OF ANGKORSiem Reap, Cambodia 2013HOSPITALITY PROJECT
As the original Haussmann’s plan is such an inspiring and accurate system to develop the design concept for this hotel renovation. The harmony, efficiency and hygienic envi-ronment inspired the new design functions and aesthetics to follow and create a con-cept that is based on these elements. The concept is to transform the old hotel interior into a more luxury yet modern accommodation provider for tourists but to preserve and restore the original elements which is the main attraction of the town. The finished project will lead the guests through different experience of space and time, to take them through a journey of time by using classical elements blending the contemporary interior. The space functions and circulation will be efficiently planned based on the Haussmann’s concept. The new space will provide an inviting and hygienic atmosphere by allowing natural air to travel in and out. To take the guests out of the heat of In-dochina and welcoming them into a refreshing artificial environment within the hotel by integrating water features as a connection between exterior and interior and also evaporative cooling system.
Built Area: 1134 m2
THE HAUSSMAN PLAN CONCEPTHaussmann plan was about planning the city into a geometric grid, with new streets running east and west, north and south dividing the city into sections, bringing symmetry to the city, opening of broader street for traffic and fresh air to travel through. The town of Siem Reap was built based on Haussmann’s theory of geometric and symmetrical aesthetic where the main areas such as Old Market and the French Quar-ter are clearly located and divided following the grid lines. Also streets are wide-opened to allow air circulation and sunlight to enter, creating a hy-gienic living environment.

EYE STORE{hnom Penh, Cambodia 2013BOUTIQUE PROJECT
Eyeglass is the product that my boutique will display and sell. They are including sun-glasses, frames for medical glasses and the contact lens. There would be an entrance that lead the users into the space and the ar¬rangement of the displays will take them with a tour around the interior space which allows them to have a look at all the products and access to the specific product if that specific user want to purchase. There are basi¬cally 2 main groups that are potential: young adults and adults de-manding medical glasses, young adults and adults demanding fashionable contact lenses, frames and sunglasses. The first group will spend more time on the eye frames and contact lens but the second group will spend more time on the sunglasses. For the function, there will be an eye examination room for checking eye status. After having a look at the favourite pieces, there will be a mirror near the display so the clients can try them on and compare straight away.
Built Area: 32 m2
CONCEPT
As an optical store, the only one eye store will have to stand out within sorya mall after being built. Considering the eyewear as a con¬temporary fashion product, the signage has to be unique that will distinguish itself from the ad-jacent cloth shops and food shops. The logo has to be eye-catching and represents the modern factors of the eyestore products. But yet the logo has to be kept to the most simplicity which will enhance its modern charac-teristic. “eye” - very basic and easy to understand, the word eye speaks up for everything that this store sell, every thing covering for the eye. The 2 round circles in equal size and connected by the big “y” shaping the eye¬glass figure. Is easy to understand and mean-ingful. Also the analo¬gus steelblue colour mixed with carolina blue from light to dark is to represent the translu-cency and purity of a piece of glasses, but not to be as fragile as it looks but as strong as steel.

SHELTERING SKIN{hnom Penh, Cambodia 2013PUBLIC PROJECT
In the 2020s, smoking is extremely prohibited in public all around the world. This is a new era when humanity starts to consider sustainability as a fact of a new healthy life-style for them. Smoking is supposed to be an unacceptable act in front of other people. Even though there is an enormous number of past smokers have quitted their smoking habits, there are still quite a few numbers use cigarettes as a stress reliever. In order to give these people a “skin” to have their private time to smoke, the shelteringskin is designed to accommodate one or two human beings at the same time. A man will be locked in his own place with a “skin” to cover himself from being seen by the public.
THE FORMAL DIAGRAMSthe project considers the natural char-acteristic of the jellyfish to generate the furniture aesthetics. the creature body is made of 3 main layers called epi-dermis, mesogloea and gastrodermis which cover its inner parts and gen-erate transparency making it invisible within the water environment. the invis-ibility of this creature is applied into the design of the “skin” covering the inhab-itant inside.
SHELTERING SKIN
SHELTERING SKIN
CONCEPT
LIGHTING SEATING+LEANING THE “SKIN”
The Sheltering skin works as a smoking space for one or two human beings. The interior space provides limited ac-tivities that the user can only stand and lean on the wall surface. Somewhat un-comfortable but yet much more hurting their feelings. The user is doing an im-proper action which has to be isolated from the view of society. Taking an inspi-ration from the natural characteristic of the Jellyfish, the design is to create the “Invisibility” for the user who is smoking inside. The person is vanished from sight of others. Being locked in the space, user is to suffer isolation and guilt from smoking. the smokers will have to walk their way down to a tunnel and climb up into the shelter to smoke which is not very convenient. By incoporating organic language and ergonomics consideration, the final design will be a new solution for a non-smoking environ-ment that encourage smokers to quit their habits and reduce dramatically the CO2 emission into the environment.
Computer generated abstract lines show the organic form capture from the movement of the jellyfish. the space between each layer has lighting to create-brightness that the inhabitants will be hardly seen
The back for seating and leaning stimulate the move-ment of jellyfish tentacles which moving smoothly up and down in a stable condition that create the flow and connection for the seating and leaning inhabitants.
Generated fom the the jelly fish bodystructure, the tortuos layers turning into organic from to cover the inhabitants.

GLOWING CELL{hnom Penh, Cambodia 2013LIGHTING PROJECT
The project aim is to create a decorative floor lamp that intends to remind space us-ers to appreciate the most basic nature of life and aprreciate life itself. The light fixture creates shadow texture when it glows in the dark and spashes the cell patterns onto the surrounding environment. The play with splashing shadows from different distance on each different areas will create a continuous and natural textures. The fixture top allows a rectangular beam to splash up onto the wall and ceiling to create a ambient lighting over the space, balancing the light distribution.
CONCEPT+ Based on the initial precedent im-ages of bionic cell structure
