Scheduling a Proctored Exam as an East

Carolina Student via UNC Online

http://online.northcarolina.edu/

Visit http://online.northcarolina.edu/

Click on the “My Dashboard” link to log in

Select ECU and click “Login through your campus”

Login with your campus credentials

(the same user ID and password you use to access your university email account)

‘My Dashboard’(To schedule exams, ensure ‘My Dashboard’ and

‘Proctoring’ (next to the envelope icon) are selected)

Click on your course, and then click ‘Schedule Exam’

Scheduling Your Exam

Exam Details are listed here, including a message from your instructor

In step 2, you will find an existing proctor in your area, invite a new proctor, or (if you’re taking a online exam that qualifies) take your exam via webcam

Once you have chosen a location, click one of the “Schedule Exam” buttons

Note: The Select Proctor details section provides information regarding the proctor’s physical address, , telephone number, email, and notes to students as well special requirements such as proctoring fees

Select your Exam Date

Important: Many students will see different options in Step 3, but in this case, the student is only choosing a date. We will cover other possibilities later

Choose your Exam Time

Note: Confirmation page indicates the course name, exam name, exam time/date, testing location, and scheduling status.

Cancel or reschedule your exam using these links

Select the date that you and the proctor have agreed upon

Type in your time schedule to take the exam, use the hh:mm format

Enter your mobile phone number in case the proctor

Click Schedule to Finish

The confirmation page verifies your exam has been scheduled

‘Take Exam Via Webcam’For online exam types (not an option for paper based exams)

Students must have a web cam, microphone and stable internet connection to take exams via webcam

Microphones and webcams built into computer are compatible with ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’Tablets/Ipads are not compatible with ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’

Online proctors are available almost 7 days a week/24 hours

Select the ‘Start Your Exam’ button when it is time to start the exam

On the day of a scheduled ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ appointment log into http://online.northcarolina.edu and select the ‘Start Exam’ button on your ‘My Services’ page to access the appointment

Online proctors are available almost 24 hours a day/7 days a week All online appointments occur in real time with live proctors (proctors monitor

students’ faces, computer screens and audio during appointments) Proctors will perform a student identification checks before the start of each exam Be on time for appointments (there are no refunds for missed appointments) As with face-to-face proctors, dress appropriately for online appointments (no hats) The proctor will remote into your computer to enter the exam password The UNC system does not receive funds from the ‘Take Exam Via Webcam’ option
