Project Challenge:

Client was experiencing high HVAC energy demand driven by original design in order to meet Product critical relative humidity conditions during summer months.

Solution:EECO2 worked with the site team as part of an EnergyIntervention event to understand the issues in detail.This approach led to key recommendations to improveworkplace conditions in addition to energy reductionopportunities, as highlighted below;

1. Achieve dehumidification with chilled water coil asopposed to desiccant wheel with steam recharge,avoiding significant replacement capital costs

2. Rebalance HVAC system and reduce air change ratesin spreading, scraping and grinding areas

3 Reconfigure airflow and pressurisation regime, usingexisting plant, to reducing working temperatures inrack cooling areas

4 Improved filtration strategy to reduce pressure dropand fan energy consumption
