Seductive pose – indicates attitude.
The dark colours represent a darkness and impurity of hip-hop
What kind of media institution might
distribute your media product and
why?
WORLD WIDE MAGAZINE DISTRIBUTION
Who would be the audience for your
media product?
They would be aged between 18 and 30 years of age and would be avid listeners of hip hope music, they would also read magazines like xxl and the source on occasions but would of course prefer to read Lyricism
How did you attract/address your
audience?
I ensured that although i only had photographs of one artist, all of the pictures were different, colours were attractive and a theme was continued to maintain identity of the magazine and make it unique. The masthead was also used on all three pages in one way or another. I used realistic articles on my contents page which featured well known artists. The contents page was well organised to that readers can distinguish exactly which articles are on which page. I focused on real, likeable artists who were praised for their lyrics.
What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?I have learned that the internet is a good way to conduct questionnaires for research and for researching distributers and publishers. Also using websites like Blogger.com helps to organise projects. Without Adobe Photoshop i wouldnt have been able to create my project to anywhere near the sort of quality that i have.
Looking back at your preliminary task,
what do you feel you have learnt in
the progression from it to the full
product? In comparison to my initial media studies task I feel I have learned a lot about a conventional magazine layout along with the importance of font types, colours and organisation.
Masthead stands out
Main cover line is far more interesting with different colours, effects, and fonts.
Background is noticeable in the ancillary but has been well disguised in my actual magazine
Eye contact is very clearBleak colours
