Analysis of my Music Magazine

Questionnaire.

Female

Male

This pie chart shows that out of the 100

questionnaires given out, the majority were

completed by males.

16 - 20

21 - 25

26 - 30

31 - 39

40 +

My results show me that the questionnaire I had created was

distributed to mostly people aged 16 –20. This is not surprising as I had done most of the distributing in and around college. The small variety of ages may affect my results as they will mainly be

from a young person’s perspective.

NME

Kerrang!

The Rolling Stone

Q

None

My questionnaire results show me that, out of all of the magazine choices, Kerrang! Is the most popular and Q

magazine is the second. This proves to me that for my magazine I will need to

make sure that the more frequently used genres are rock and indie as this is

similar to Kerrang and Q.

Daily

Monthly

Weekly

Never

Yearly

Here the chart shows me that the vast majority of the music

magazine consumers prefer to buy their magazine on a weekly

basis. Due to this majority choice I will also make my magazine a

weekly piece of media.

Free posters

Music news

Artist interviews

Local gig info

These results show that when purchasing a music magazine people are more interested in free posters

and less interested in local gig information, this is something that I

will have to keep in mind when I create my own music magazine.

£0 - 5

£5.01 - 7

£7.01 - 10

10.01 +

The chart here shows that most people are not prepared to spend more than five pounds a month

on music magazines, this information is not at all surprising

to me as the questionnaire was mostly taken by 16 – 20 year olds who stereotypically do not have a

lot of money to spend.
