Exploring Autumn

The Oxalis is a plant which blooms light pink flowers twice a year, once in the summer and once in the winter. This plant has 3 or 4 dark purple leaflets which open up during the day,

and close at night.

Tomatoes have many health benefits. They contain many antioxidants which help remove cancer causing free radicals from the body. They also have a high amount of Vitamin K,

Iron, and Potassium which are all needed for optimal blood functioning.

The Oak Tree and the Mimosa Tree flourish in areas where there is lots of sunlight and well-drained soil. Both are low maintenance because they require little watering to

healthily grow and survive.

Cactus plants naturally grow in areas that are dry. Their roots absorb water and the stems store the water, which allows them to survive during times of drought.

Every year during fall, the leaves in New England change colors. Trees produce food in the leaves by a process called photosynthesis. Because the days get shorter in the fall, the leaves are

exposed to less sunlight and the tree is not able to produce as much food. This leaves the leaves useless and they fade in color and fall off.

When light hits a layer of petrol on water, the reflection back is this colorful looking puddle. This happens because the layer of petrol varies in thickness and the light passes through at

different distances. The reflection back is a spectrum of colors.
