Ezekiel 14:1-8

“Idols in their hearts,& before their faces”

Exo 20:2-6; Gal 5:19-21; 1 John 5:21; 1 Cor 10:14; Col 3:5-7

Bowing down to show honor & or actively serving a man-made image.

Anything given preeminence in our hearts.

Any practice that stirs up unholy desires.

Idolatry?

When it becomes a focus of the mind (1 Cor 11:27-32; Heb 10:28-29).

When does something become idolatry?

When it becomes a reason for missing assemblies (1 Cor 16:13-14; Heb 10:24-25).

When does something become idolatry?

When it becomes a cause for cancelling worship assemblies (Acts 20:1ff).

When does something become idolatry?

When it becomes a fascination for its lustful appeal (Jas 1:12-13; Psa 101:1-8).

When does something become idolatry?

Jesus, Meek & Gentle
