Important Rules of the RoadOnly one travel grant and one research grant per academic year

SRC requires detailed budgets

STU Research Ethics Board must approve the project before funds are released

Must use the funds by the deadline date, or apply for an extension from the Research Office. Any money left over after the grant period will be returned to the pool. Account surplus and deficits are carried forward annually

Computer hardware or software purchases are exempt

When submitting reimbursement forms, itemized receipts are required. The finance office DOES NOT ACCEPT DEBIT SLIPS.

To make significant changes to research plan, it must be pre-approved by SRC

Accounting – Internal and External Grants In the near future, faculty will be able to view grant accounts

using Web Advisor, until then, contact Financial Services Keep track of your research account number & include it

on your reimbursement forms No such thing as “too many supporting documents and

receipts” Keep everything Submit reimbursement form and all receipts to the

Research Office for approval within 30 days of expenditure

Forms are sent by the RO to Financial Services (Reg Gallant and Laura Tucker)

Payment normally takes 14 days to be processed and mailed to you
