3. LITERATURE REVIEW
Job selection is the process of decision making. A great number of studies,
researches and write-up has been conducted for a period of time and still emerged asone of the top-priority research, due to rapid changing and need of time.
MBAUniverse.com, Indias No.1 Portal site is conducting various surveys about
companies, students, career opportunities, etc. MBAUniverse.com with its research
partner Synovate has conducted the third edition of annual MBAUniverse.com
Career Aspirations of MBAs Survey 2010. The survey reveals insights into the
dreams of MBA students with respect to their final placements in the year 2010.
According to MBAUniverse.coms survey, Money is not the most important criteria
for management graduates. 'Job Profile' is the most important criteria while choosing
a job. The other criteria that they mentioned are salary, brand image of the company,
job profile, location of the job and the industry sector. For example, The MBAs
were asked in the survey Which are your top sectors of choice where you will seek
placement? The highest percentage of 57% goes to Management Consulting which
figures at the top of the heap. 40% would like to work in an FMCG company, 35%
would love to work in an Investment Banking firm, 30% would be happy in the
Banking & Insurance sector and there are also many takers for the IT/ITES and
Media & Entertainment sectors with 27% each in both the sectors.
In foreign countries also, these types of research are conducted for all the students.
The research was carried out in 2007 by Hewitt Associates, Monday Insight and the
Business Foundation for Education. The survey involved a sample of 12,477
students from 37 universities and 71 faculties or courses. This represents 10% of all
students in Bulgaria and the survey is nationally representative in terms of
universities and regarding students.
According to their research, Remuneration (73%), career development (53%),
possibilities for further training (37%) and interesting work (29%) were among the
leading motives identified by students in influencing their future choice of employer.

analysis that out of 50, 36 students prefer that there should be sectors in industry. We
have given many sectors choices to them for selecting one of them which they prefer for
them as most preferable area of working. From our analysis we can see that most of the

management consulting and all other are at the same preference.
