Creating Folios & Webpages

How do I start?

To begin, click the Folios & Web Pages button from the home screen

Folios vs Pages

What’s the difference?

Presentation Folio: A multi page showcase of work, credentials, resources and or artifacts.

Web Page: a single page of work, resources and or artifacts.

Naming your work

After you have decided on a Folio or Web Page, enter a title for your work:

After entering a title, decide on the structure

Depending on which template you select, the structure and outline will change accordingly. Some example templates are Employment Portfolio, Best Practices Web Page, etc

Which template should you use? General vs Custom Templates

• General templates are available to all Taskstream users and created by Taskstream

• Custom templates are templates that are created by your learning community

Choosing a themeClick on a theme and click Apply on the next screen to make your selection:

Layout & StructureOnce you select a theme, you are taken to the Work tab; the left hand frame is your Folio’s structure tree and the right hand frame will reflect any content that you add:

Moving & Copying

If you wish to customize your structure, you can move or copy elements. Locate the Move or Copy button at the top of the Structure Tree and click on the desired action:

Moving & Copying Next, you will be prompted to indicate the destination:

Adding a Page

If you wish to add another element to your structure, e.g. Page, locate the Add Area button at the top of the Structure Tree:

If you wish to add a section to an existing sub page, locate the Section button in the bottom right corner of your Folio or Web Page:

Enter a name and click Create add your section.

After you click Create, you will see your new section in the structure tree

Deleting an AreaIf you wish to remove an Area from the structure tree such as a page, click on the area you wish to remove and click on the Delete Area button. You will be prompted to confirm your action:

How to add content?

Locate the Add Toolbar at the bottom of your screen. You can add various types of content:

Adding content via Text & ImageYou can add a small image from your computer or choose from

Taskstream’s stock library and also input text:

Adding content via SlideshowIf you have a few small images you wish to combine into a slideshow, click slideshow and you will be able to name your slideshow and browse for images from your computer:

Adding Content via Main TextYou can input text by clicking the Main Text button:

Adding Content via AttachmentsYou can upload a file from your computer (e.g. MS Office files, pdfs, RTFs, etc:

Adding Content via AttachmentsYou can upload a previously uploaded file by selecting the second bullet point:

Adding Content via AttachmentsSelect the third bullet point to attach an artifact created in Taskstream (e.g. Lessons, Units and Rubrics)

Adding Content via StandardsYou can connect your content to State, National and International Standards:

Adding Content via VideoYou can also add a video file the same way you add any other attachment:

Adding content via LinksIf you click the Links button you can type in a URL to include:

Adding Content via Embed MediaOnce you click the Embed Media button, you can include content that which is hosted on other websites:

How to share your Folio or PageLocate the Publish/Share tab within your program:

You are presented with a few different ways to publish or share your content:

Click on the desired action button:

If you click Email this DRF, you will be able to email your URL to a recipient:

Publishing to the Web

If you click the Publish button you will be able to claim a URL and customize it if you wish to distribute it to your colleagues:

Generating a PDF of your Folio or PageWhen you click the Generate a Printable PDF button you will be able to print a title page, a table of contents and any attachments you wish to include:
