CATCHING Definition: adjective 1. tending to be transmitted from

one person to another; contagious or infectious: a disease that is catching; His enthusiasm is catching.

2. attractive; fascinating; captivating; alluring: a catching personality.

Context clues: “Is what Marcus has catching?”

Application: My little sister is sick, I hope what she has is not catching.

MUMBLED Definition: noun verb (used without object) 1. to speak in a low indistinct manner, almost

to an unintelligible extent; mutter. 2. to chew ineffectively, as from loss of teeth:

to mumble on a crust. verb (used with object) 3. to say or utter indistinctly, as with partly

closed lips: He mumbled something about expenses.
