Fundraising is a gentle art of teaching the joy of giving. Through this initiative the institute aimed at
fostering the ideal of service to the society within the students in addition to radiating lives of less
fortunate ones. The two main objectives of the event were: generating income and raising awareness
among the volunteers and the audience. Apart from this, the plan ensured that everyone- volunteers, staff
and the students were on the same page and working towards a common goal while infusing fun and
entertainment to the day.

Abstract :
SPIRIT, Annual Sports Meet is an event that is most eagerly and anxiously awaited by all the students.
The event was inaugurated by the honorable director, Prof. (Dr.) Raman Garg. The Social & Heritage
Club, RDIAS tapped the opportunity and used it as a medium to raise funds for a visit to the orphanage
which will be organized on the occasion of Deepawali. The event was also organized to raise awareness
among the crowd- staff, volunteers and students regarding the importance of giving and contributing
towards betterment of the society.
The Fundraising event was segregated into two main activities:
GREEN ON MY PLATE: The volunteers prepared and served the enthusiastic athletes with healthy snacks such
as bhelpuri and sprouts at very nominal prices. The aim was to serve healthy food and spread the message of
eating and living healthy. Cool and refreshing lemonades were also served to help the players beat the heat.
The activity followed a simple motto- “Let food be thy medicine, thy medicine shall be thy food.”
FETE GAMES: Apart from the various sport competitions organized, the Social & Heritage Club
organized some simple and fun fete games to amuse not only the participants of the sports meet but
also the staff and the remaining students. Some of these were:
Glass pyramid game attracted much of the crowd. The player would throw the ball from a distance
specified in order to break the glass pyramid in three hits only.
Pick the gems was another fun game which absorbed attention from people of all age group. The player
was supposed to segregate the gems on the basis of their color and quantity prescribed.
Another fascinating game was Sum the Calendar, wherein the player was provided with a bowl of coins
and a calendar. He was supposed to place the coins in such a way that intrinsic value and the date are
equal.
All those who performed as per rules and succeeded were rewarded with hand-made chocolates, as a
token of both- success and gratitude for contributing towards a noble cause.
