LCMPT NOW AVAILABLE!• LC officially launched Library of Congress Medium of

Performance Thesaurus for Music (LCMPT) on February 24, 2014.

• Approximately 800 terms.• Includes most of the medium terms currently in LCSH, as

well as some new terms.• Can be used in authority and bibliographic records in the

• Music LCGFT terms out in the next year or so.• Look for a genre/form and medium of performance

preconference at MLA 2015.• Tell your systems people!

RETROSPECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION???• Once Music LCGFT terms are complete, catalogers may

begin using genre/form and medium of performance terms in bibliographic records.

• Looking into options for converting subject headings in legacy records to genre/form and medium of performance terms.

• New task force?
