GIRLS ALOUD

FO: I am developing an informed view by exploring the

techniques used to influence my opinion

LO: To understand how people/bands are represented

in the music industry in relation to the genre of music and the gender of those people/bands.

Your Task

Using the internet choose an artist you wish to research and find evidence of at least five different representations of the artist.

You should aim to collect images from a range of sources. Eg.• CD Covers/ Publicity Shots• Magazine Covers• Paparazzi photographs

For each image deconstruct it in terms of its denotation [what you can see] and its connotation [what its underlying message is]

Present this back to the group in the form of a Powerpoint Presentation
