GOVERNOR’S REPORT – AREA B – 2ND CHAPTER NEWSLETTER
Area B District Meeting
The Area B District Meeting was held on Wednesday, April 13. It was a fantastic
meeting. Beth Rogers, LCP, & the Collin County Chapter, hosted the meeting at their
regular meeting location. Beth was responsible for securing our speaker, Melissa
Zimbelman, WCR National President. Beth also gave the invocation at the meeting.
Melissa spoke about balancing work and life. She shared ideas about how to balance
a real estate career, being National President of WCR, and with her personal life.
The audience gave Melissa a standing ovation. Kathy Brinkley, LCP of Central TX,
attended with two of her members. Kathy led us in the Pledge of Allegiance for both
flags. Veronica Taylor, LCP of Dallas was not able to attend because of her upcoming
nuptials’. Veronica however contributed an outstanding inspiration that was read
by Kathy Wade and she also invited a vendor to participate. Terri Miller, LCP from
Dallas Metro East participated by introducing our dignitaries and acknowledging
and thanking the strategic partners. I was so proud of Terri because she was totally
out of her comfort zone. She did an outstanding job. Michelle Parrigan, Hospitality
Chair, of Greater Tarrant County delivered an outstanding update on their Chapter’s
activities. Unfortunately, Leah Cox, LCP, Heart of Texas did not participate. Betty
Mendoza, LCP, Southwest Dallas, was instrumental in getting a strategic partner; her
Chapter assisted with Registration and Betty was our mistress of ceremonies.
Barbara Phaup, LCP of Tyler was unable to attend because of impending surgery.
We were so impressed with the report delivered by Amy Montanye who
represented the Tyler Chapter. Kathy Wade, LCP, Brazos Valley was instrumental in
securing a strategic partner, and door prizes. Kathy also delivered the inspiration.
We were fortunate to have our National Financial Secretary, Jo Anne Stevens and
State President, Ethel O’Dell participate on the program.
Planning the District Meeting was great fun. District Vice Presidents, Mary Nelson
and Christina Daw were included on all the planning calls and were present to help
with final day of event activities. Mary Nelson secured Cindie Stewart, who
delivered an outstanding presentation on how the skills you use in each of the
leadership positions within WCR will help you both personally and professionally.

Central TX – BRG- Kathy Brinkley, Local Chapter President
The Central TX BRG held a New Member Orientation, May 17th and I was honored to
participate. Kathy and the folks in Central TX are still raving over the, “sold out”,
2016 Top Producer Panel program. The panel gave riveting stories of their
experiences in the real estate industry. They had the group in tears reliving some of
their mishaps, and in awe the next moment with the wise words they shared. They
are currently gearing up for their “Show Off Your Bling” Fashion Show, Friday,
August 19th @ 6p.m.
