This week, as you can see elsewhere in the bulle-tin, is Catholic Schools Week in Massena. The National Catholic Schools Week occurs in late January, which can be really difficult because of
the schedule and the end of the second marking period - so we (and some other Catholic Schools) observe it in February! The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2017 is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” It is a well-known fact that Catholic schools have a long and noble history in our na-tion and community. Without a doubt, Catholic schools are an asset to the life of our society. From time to time, fac-ulty and administration members of our public schools tell me that they can “pick out a Trinity Catholic School kid right away.” How is that? They consistently say that chil-dren who graduated from TCS are in general very courte-ous, sociable, and all-around positive influences at the Middle School and High School. This does not happen by accident . . . Trinity Catholic School really is a “Community of Faith, Knowledge, and Service” - and it does make a positive difference in our community!

Catholic Schools Week
Trinity Catholic School celebrates Catholic Schools Week
with the national theme: “Catholic Schools: Communities
of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” According to the
NCEA, this theme “encompasses several concepts that are
at the heart of a Catholic education. Schools are communi-
ties—small families in their own right, but also members of
the larger community of home, church, city and nation.
Faith, knowledge and service are three measures by which
any Catholic school can and should be judged.” TCS will
incorporate these ideas every day this week.
On SUNDAY, join them for their annual Pancake Break-
fast from 9:00 – 1:00 at the Knights of Columbus on East
Orvis St. On MONDAY, Please join the school for the

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
Did you know that Pope Francis and mayors
from around the world have signed a com-
mon declaration of intent to combat environmental
damage and human trafficking? Those who are flee-
ing from war, violence, droughts, and natural disas-
ters are very vulnerable to human traffickers who
promise a better life but turn them into ‘slaves.’ Let
us pray for the wisdom and courage to speak out
and act as responsible Christians for the protection
and conservation of our environment, ‘our common
home.' L. Si. St. Josephine Bakhita, pray for us.
PLANNED GIVING: Free Proposal
Did you know that you can make a charitable
gift that also benefits you in a practical way? A
Charitable Gift Annuity is a donation you make to
our parish, yet you will receive guaranteed income
on it for the rest of your life at a relatively high rate
of return (4.4% - 9.0%). Plus you will receive a
charitable tax deduction and tax-free income. Ulti-
mately your gift will support our parish, while sup-
porting you during your lifetime. For a free pro-
posal contact the Diocese at 315-393-2920 or
Email slalone@rcdony.org.
RCIA
Make time to reflect on the past year. Where are you in
your faith life? How do you pray? What difference does the
Eucharist make in your life? RCIA is offering an invitation
to anyone that has never been baptized but has a desire to
be a member of a church community, anyone who has been
baptized Christian but is interested in learning about the
Catholic faith, any non active Catholic who has been away
from the Church and would like to get re-acquainted, and
any adult Catholic who would like to learn more about the
Church and mature in their faith, anyone interested in be-
coming Catholic even if you happen to be one already.
