"On European level the most important agreement is that open access publishing will be the norm in 2020.

... Also on the issue of reuseability of data openness will be the default"

““as open as possible, as closed as necessary”

Key ambitions:(1) Full open access to publications in 2020(2) To make research data optimally suited for reuse(3) Recognition and rewards

(4) To promote and support: To establish a ‘clearing house’ for all information regarding all available research support.

Green Open Access

The University of Groningen and the University Medical Center Groningen both want to promote open access of their research output via the green OPEN ACCESS road, and asks her researchers therefore to deposit their "final author versions" of their articles into the research database Pure

The workflow aims to minimize the effort for the researchers, where the library will do the rest (University of Groningen Library & Central Medical Library)

(Policy document discussed and approved by CvB & RvB)

8

Januari 2017• Authors can simply email final author version

of accepted articles to pure@rug.nl ─ plus some extra info

• The library (the CMB for UMCG) takes care of:─ Entry in Pure─ Validates & completes metadata─ Makes final author version open access avaiable─ Downloads pdfs from publishers’s website─ Uploads pdf of final publishers version to Pure
