2010 Summer Hollidays Inter-RailA train experience for the family

Summer hollidays...

... are very important! We travel as a family, and we like to meet new places and learn new things. In 2010 we left the tents at home and decided to try the train and make urban tourism: we visited big cities and we revisited Taizé, where we feel part of a community. It was a great experience!

We left Oeiras on the 27th July 2010, and visited the cities of Bordeaux, Paris, Barcelona and Madrid. On the way, we had much fun at the Futuroscope thematic park, in Poitiers, and we stayed for a week in Taizé, in French Burgundy.

Sleeping in the train was a great experience! Our first stop was at Bordeaux: we walked around the city, and stayed at Michel Pujos’ house. In the couple of days there, ewe visited the famous vineyards, the village of Saint Emilion and the Dune of Pyla.

By the end of that day, we arrived to Paris, where we stayed in the apartament “Sous les toits”, a 6th floor with no elevator right close to the subway station “République”. On August 3rd, we passed by the Louvre (closes on tuesdays!), the Tuilleries’ gardens and the Champs Elisées.
