Outline
2016 LAS/ANS SYMPOSIUM - Incentives for Professional Qualification (Human Resources)
IPEN was created in 1956 for research and development in the area of
nuclear energy and its applications Since 1976 associated to USP for Education: Level 6 by
CAPES
Today • 800 employees (250 PhD) • Two nuclear research reactors • Electron accelerators and Cobalt irradiators for radiation industrial applications • Two cyclotron accelerators for radioisotopes production • Laboratories for R&D on Lasers, Fuel Cells and Hydrogen, Biotechnology, Materials, Environmental Sciences, Nuclear Fuel Cycle and others.
IPEN is located at the campus of University of São Paulo (USP) in an
area of nearly 500,000 m2
