Post Section Meeting Reports
East Central Section
The 2019 East Central Section Meeting was held in St. Peters on Thursday, April 4 . One
hundred-twenty operators and twenty-seven vendor reps attended the event. Incoming officers
are Chair Taylor Flynn Elhoffer, MAWC Chesterfield; Vice Chair Shelley Lane, MAWC
Chesterfield; Secretary Marshall Suddarth, AWR -- Winfield; Treasurer Tony Davis, MAWC
Chesterfield; Training Chair Jessi Pashia, PWSD #2 -- St. Charles County; and Section Board
Rep Don Rea, St. Louis. Next year’s meeting will be held on April 8 in St. Peters.

Midwest Section
2019 - 2020 Midwest Section Officers are Chair Scott Hern, Columbia Water and Light;
Secretary/Treasurer Dean Bryant, Columbia Water and Light; Assistant Secretary/Treasurer
Mark Wild, AWR -- Boonville; Section Board Rep I Kyle Wirts, City of California; and Section
Board Rep II Russell Gerling, City of Alliance Water Resources -- Ashland.
The Midwest Section Meeting will be back in 2020!
Northeast Section
The Northeast Section Meeting was held at the Macon County Park Expo Center on Tuesday,
April 9, 2019. One hundred twenty-five people, including speakers and vendor reps, attended the
event. Section officers for the coming year are Chairman LaDon Atkinson -- AWR Bowling
Green, Vice Chairman John C. Gibson (retired), Secretary/Treasurer Ginny Ismay -- (retired),
and Section Board Rep Matt Everts -- City of Moberly. The section’s Wastewater Plant
Operator of the Year is Rick Dunker -- City of Mexico. Philip Woodward, City of Laclede, is the
section's Kramer Awardee recipient. The City of Princeton is the section's Wastewater
Treatment Plant of the Year. Retirees Don Epperson, John C. Gibson, and Michael Thompson
and outgoing chairman, Brent Orbin -- City of Macon, were also recognized. The next meeting
of MWWC Northeast Section will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Macon County Park
Expo Center.

Northwest Section
The 2019 Northwest Section Meeting was held, at the Stoney Creek
Inn, in St. Joseph, on Thursday, April 4. One hundred thirty-seven
individual registrants plus speakers, vendor reps, spouses and
guests, attended the event. Section officers for the coming year
are: Chair Trudi Burton (retired), Vice Chair Richard Allwood –
Chillicothe; Secretary/Treasurer Michele Allwood --- City of
Maysville, and Section Board Rep. Curtis Hedrick -- Tarkio. Lisa
Adams, MAWC St. Joseph, is this year's Kramer Award Recipient.
Outstanding Water Operator of the Year is David Scott, KCMO
Water Services. An appreciation award was presented to Trudi
Burton for her service as the section's 2018 - 2019 Chair. Bernard
Meyer, who is retired from MAWC St. Joseph, received the David
L. Williams Award. Next year’s Northwest Section Meeting will be
held in St. Joe on Thursday, April 2.
Elmer L. Wright, City of Archie, passed away on Friday, May 10,
2019. Elmer was a member of the MWWC through the Northwest
Section. In April of 2018, Elmer was named the section's
outstanding operator of the year. Elmer, then shared the honor of State Operator of the Year,
with the East Central Section's Operator of the Year, Erick Kehoe.

Southeast Section
The Southeast Section held its 2019 Annual
Meeting at the Osage Center in Cape Girardeau,
on Wednesday, April 17. Incoming officers are
Chairman Allen Taylor -- City of Cape Girardeau,
Vice Chairman Jon Ridings -- City of Cape
Girardeau, Secretary/Treasurer Todd Fulton --
City of Cape Girardeau, Training Chairman
Jeremy Meyer -- City of Perryville, and Section
Board Representative William Kosky, Jr. -- City
of New Madrid. Jeremy Wellington – City of
Clarkton, is the section’s Kramer Award
Recipient. Brad Bayless – City of Farmington is
the Wastewater Operator of the Year, and Jason Burge -- City of Malden, is the Water oOperator
of the Year, and the Water Distribution Operator of the Year is David McElfresh, PWSD #1
Mississippi County. The 2020 Southeast Section Meeting will be held at the Drury Convention
Center, in Cape Girardeau, on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Southwest Section
One hundred fifty-five people attended MWWC’s
2019 Southwest Section Meeting. The event was
held at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds & Event
Center in Springfield, on Tuesday, May 8.
Incoming officers are: Chairman Darren Chitwood
– Webb City; Vice Chairman Chad Copher –
Joplin; Training Chairman Scott Hall –
Springfield; Secretary/Treasurer -- Carthage and
Board Rep Keith Pratt – Springfield. The section's
2019 Kramer Awardee is Richard (Mike) Smith --
Carthage Water & Electric Plant. The date and
location of the 2020 Southwest Section Meeting
will be announced at a later date.

Thursday Evening Meet & Greet Social The annual meet and greet social will be held inside the exhibit hall from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Hot food and cold drinks will be served.
50/50 Raffle Raffle tickets will be available for purchase. 50% of the pot will be awarded to the holder of the winning ticket.
