The concept that drove the project was inspired by the need of engagement with people and their city. Because of the hyper-dependancy of the car in today’s society, the people of Birmingham have disconnected from their urban environment. By pushing andpulling the building form along a curve, this encourages engagement and discovery as it forces you to move around the site. The goal of this project is to create a trail head for the bikeshare program that raises awareness of Auburn University’s presence within the city. By doing so, it begins to serve as a hub for connecting the people of the city together. Much like the city of Birmingham, this site must be explored to be fully understood and appreciated.

Inspired by Fredrick Olmstead’s landscape plans for Boston, the concept for this hospital design attempts to reach out and pull from the landscape design of the “emerald necklace.” Like a ribbon,this green space meanders throughout the city of Boston,providing so many places to come together as a community

lakehouse

A hillside house that is overlooking a lake is the perfect opportunity to design something extraordinary. The conception for this form based design began with the investigtion of natural growth, layering. Using layers as a tool in the design process, allowed the house to take on a free form. The design for this house is kept organic as the light peeks through the small openings occuring throughout the interior.
