WHY DID I WANT TO BECOME A PORTRAIT

PHOTOGRAPHER?

EARLY ATTEMPTS AT PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

LOCATION PHOTOGRAPHYThe majority of my work is on location. These portraits were taken on location at various scenic areas that include a natural setting as well as an urban setting. Locations were chosen according to the subjects request or vision of what they wanted their portraits to portray about themselves.

My photography work is not my primary source of income, this allows me the freedom to focus on the art of photography and offer an affordable service to friends, family and others.

Sessions include children, adults, high school seniors and represent many life milestones that people wish to preserve in portraiture.

STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY

I enjoy studio work and the details and skills required to create a successful portrait. These are some examples of my studio work. In my opinion, lighting is one of the most important skills to learn for successful photography.

SPORTS & ACTIVITY PHOTOGRAPHY

I enjoy photographing various school and sports activities that involve my children.

These activities include, and are not limited too, band, dance/baton and school plays, etc.

FACES OF AUTISM

One out of 68 births in the United States have an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, and males are five times more likely to be affected. Often children with Autism are the main focus of today’s media, however these children all grow up into adults, and I hope that this project raises awareness for the adult population on the Autism spectrum.

In recognition of National Autism Awareness Month, my photography project focuses on the adulthood of those affected by Autism. Autism is a neurological disorder that affects each individual differently, creating a broad spectrum of challenges. Autism Spectrum disorder does not carry any physical characteristics and it is impossible to distinguish by looks.

My goal with this project is Autism Awareness. Autism can affect anyone. Take a look around you….chances are there will be at least one person affected by Autism and you won’t have the ability to pick them out by their appearance.

TRASH BAG SERIES

"Homecoming, sweethearts dance, prom.....so many dances, so many expensive dresses. The funny thing is, my daughter and her friends would look good in anything they wore, even a trash bag....."

All models were dressed in trash bags that were fashioned to look similar to the starlets they represented. I wanted the trash bags to be an important part of photograph and serve as artwork as well. I feel very confident that I achieved my vision in this particular project. The photographs have the old Hollywood feel and the trash bags were incorporated in the finished product as an important factor, but not overpowering the image.
