What is the Transferable Skills System?

• A system to help clients from one sector of industry find employment in another sector; and to find employment which will credit past experience and recognize prior learning for trades/occupational certification.

• The program will identify skill gaps between the trade in which the individual was previously employed and the trade in which employment is sought.

• An HRDC-funded project developed and implemented by the UFCW Training Centre.

• Promote InterProvincial Trade Certification in one or more trades

How will TSP Technology Work?

• Client database record includes an Assessment Skill Profile, experience, education and certification.

• Employers identify jobs and skills where they need workers, based on job descriptions/skill profiles and formal standards.

• TSP databases will identify transferable skills between client’s existing skills and new employment options.
