Cultural Sexual Ethic

• Three Questions:1. Is sex desirable?2. Is sex consensual?3. Is sex safe?

• Assumption: sex is just an appetite, like eating.

Biblical Sexual Ethic

Sex is a gift to be used to celebrate, renew, and strengthen a

covenant.

• Adultery – Sex outside a covenant.

• Sexual Immorality – Sex without a covenant.

• Lust – strong desire for sex regardless of any covenant.

Bible is not Sexual Repressed

Cultural Sexual Ethic

Commodity – Sex is what you want.Currency – Sex will get you what you want.
