Terminology

Tweet – An individual posting in TwitterFollower – Someone that subscribes to your

feed, so they can see your messagesTweeps – Twitter usersRetweet – RT, When you repost another

users messageDirect Message – DM, A private message

between users

Terminology

SMS – Short Messaging Service. Allows text messaging through cell phones

Microblog – A short posting that is limited in allowable size

Hashtag – the # sign followed by a word to make searching easier.

i.e. #FollowFriday

Twitter Philosophies

There seem to be two main philosophies:1.) Twitter is an endless stream of information that flows by.

It can be viewed like a stream with flowers floating on top. Sometimes you may reach in and grab some of the flowers, other times you just let them float by.
