Agile Applications – Vision for AI and Chatbots• 80% of what we do as humans in work is low value, manual,

mundane, admin, leaving us only 20% of our time to deliver high value, strategic, customer engaging activity

• For Example, In planning, we see officers spending over 4 out of 5 days each week doing repetitive admin tasks, taking basic calls to chase application progress, reviewing copying and filing information, and often having less than 1 day per week to undertake high value, strategic planning activities and focusing on improving the built environment and the local economy.

• Our aim, is to automate upwards of 80% of admin tasks through the intelligent application of AI, Chatbots and Data Visualisation

AI and Chatbots for Planning Calls

Recent discovery workshops with 13 council planning departments demonstrated that “Intelligent chatbots could resolve upwards of 9000 planning calls per year per council and provide a better 24/7/365 citizen experience”.

Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG)and Future Cities Catapult – April 2019

This would double to 18,000 interactions per council per year when we apply the bots to email and webforms.

AI and Chatbots for Waste Management Calls

Recent discovery workshops with 20 council Waste Management Teams demonstrated that “Intelligent chatbots and AI could resolve upwards of 38,000 Waste Management calls per year per council and provide a better 24/7/365 citizen experience”.

Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG)and Future Cities Catapult – April 2019

This would almost double to 60,000 interactions per council per year when we apply the bots to email and webforms.

Redbridge

Council

“I would like to say a big thanks to our partner Agile Datum who are helping us to automate

upwards of 80% of planning tasks through the intelligent application of Artificial Intelligence. We are seeing planning validation reduce from

3 weeks to 24 hours”.

Training A.I. for Local Government Services

A.I. for 2D to 3D in Planning

Working with leading academics

Why A.I. for Local Government

• Council budgets have been cut by upwards of 50% in last 10 years

• Citizen expectations increasing and 24/7/365

• 80% of everything we do is low value admin

• We don’t have enough time and resources to focus on the more deserving cases and on strategy/service improvement

• Chatbots add approx. 15% extra capacity into each department

• A.I. adds approx. 35% extra capacity into each department

• A.I. and Chatbots can deliver better improved citizen experience

• These are tools to augment and support humans and not to replace them
