Untllher entrance sex appeal was arough-and-ready, slam-bang af-fair. Miss Bara reasoned thatthe half-nelson technique of herrivals was sllly. So Thedabrought the Slink to pictures.The slink was a voluptueus walkor shuffie designed to bring theheroine from a spot ten feetaway fro m the hero. MissBara's slink was .a deliberateprocess. Instead of slinkingstraight at the hero, she movedsort of on the bias. Agreeingwith the mathematicians thatthe shortest distance betweentwo points is a straight line,Theda traveled the long way, tobuild up the suspense. She'dfasten her eyes on the hero, yousee, and then start for him ona zigzag route. There was plainor garden variety lust in her bigbrown eyes, mind you, and asshe slunk forward. you could Seethe hero registering fear. Youknew from his closeup that heknew he was a dead pigeon.
