NEW OFFERTORY ENVELOPES 2017-2018 If you haven’t already taken your envelopes, can you please take them this weekend. ALSO it’s not too late to sign up to use them …… just let us know! Especially non-tax payers – it is more important than ever before, that your offering is received via the offertory envelopes to ensure that any donations you make are given to the Church of your choice. For anyone that has already taken their envelopes, if any details are incorrect – such as the spelling of your name or incorrect address, if you could please let either Fr. Michael or Marina know as our records have to be correct.
Thank you for your kind support.
WEDNESDAY CLUB: Every Wednesday between 2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m. in the Church Hall. Everyone welcome.
SAVE THE DATE: Deanery Ladies Social –
Thursday 6th July in our Hall. More details to follow.
ALL LADIES WELCOME.
NEW CHAIRS FOR THE CHURCH HALL:
We have requested chairs as part of a grant application, but if successful we are still expected to buy half of the chairs ourselves. The Hall Committee are asking Parishioners if they would like to sponsor a chair for the Hall. Each chair costs £25 and afterwards a ‘purchase a plaque’ will be put onto the Hall wall with the surnames of all who have sponsored. You may wish to sponsor a chair as a family or as a group. A list is at the back of the Church if you are able to pledge sponsorship. MANY THANKS.
CHURCH OUTDOOR CLEARING:
We are hoping to complete and maintain the clearing of moss and weeds around the outside area of
the Church and the Presbytery which we started at the end of last
year. Volunteers are asked to meet on Tuesday 23rd May, at 6.30 p.m. outside the Church, weather permitting. Thank you for your help in advance.
THE OVER 55’s LUNCHEON CLUB: Held by the Halifax & District Irish
Society, on Thursday May 25h at the Pellon Social Club from 12 noon. For
further information contact Maurice Kidney on 01422-343483
SVP St Vincent Support Centre Leeds
The St Vincent Support Centre in Leeds is hampered in its efforts to help the needy with food parcels owing to
reduced stocks. Donations of the following over the next two weekends would be a great help: tinned vegetables;
tinned meat; tinned soup; tinned fish; sauce mixes; cereal; pasta; tinned fruit and toiletries. Items can be left in the shopping trolley in the Church porch or at the back of
Church.
The collections for the Ebenezer Centre will resume after
these two weeks.
THE ASCENSION and WORLD COMMUNICATIONS DAY – Next Sunday 28th May, the Catholic Church in England and Wales celebrates the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord and also World Communications Day. We will hear Our Lord’s wish that we should go to spread the “Good News” throughout the world. There will be a second collection next weekend to assist the Church in her mission of evangelisation. Please take a prayer card - and to find out more visit www.catholicnews.org.uk
CONGRATULATIONS: to all our young people and adults who received the Sacrament of
