HOW TO ACCESS LAB PC FROM HOME

WINDOWS COMPUTER LABS

Step1. Certificate Installation – Certificate needs to be installed in the Personal Laptop ONLY ONCE.

1. Kindly go to the following link and download the RDP Gateway Certificate file:

KVMDXSTDLS16.cer

2. Please install the downloaded file as follow:

Right click the file and Click Install Certificate

3. Select Local Machine and Click Next

4. Select Place all certificates in the following store and click Browse

5. Select Trusted Root Certification Authorities and Click OK

6. Click Next

7. Click Finish

8. Now the import is successful and click OK

NOW THE CERTIFICTAE IS INSTALLED SUCCESSFULLY.

PLEASE NOTE – You DO NOT need to Install the certificate every time you access the Lab PC. It is only needed to be installed ONCE in the

personal PC for the first time.

Step2. Middlesex Remote Desktop - Dashboard 1. Go to the following link:

https://remoteaccess.labstats.com/middlesex-university-dubai

Here you will see all the Lab PCs in groups like – Lab 101, Lab102, Lab103, etc.

2. Click the required Lab in which you want to Login to a PC.

For example: if you want to login to a PC in Lab115 the click Lab115 as shown below:

3. Now click Connect on any available PC shown in the list (shown below):

For example: here you will click Connect for kvmdxlab115pc16 from the list (shown below)

4. After clicking Connect it will ask you to download a file

Click Download

5. Now open the downloaded file as shown below:

6. After opening the downloaded file click Connect, as shown below:

7. Now enter the credentials as following:

Username : STUDENTMDX\M00xxxxxx <M00xxxxxx – your MISIS or Student Number>

Password : <Dubai PC/WIFI Password>

Now click OK

8. Now click Yes

9. After Clicking Yes it will login to the Lab PC as shown below:

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT FORGET TO LOGOFF after completing the Lab Session to make it available for the other students.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE:

1. Inactive sessions will automatically logoff after 30 Minutes, the PC will logoff itself with a warning message for 2 minutes for saving

your files.

2. Maximum Time for a Remote Session is 3 Hours, the PC will logoff itself after 3 hours completed with a warning message for 2

minutes for saving your files.

3. Disconnected Session without Logging Off will Log Off Automatically after 5 minutes.

REMOTE FROM MAC PC

Please Note: You DO NOT Need to Install the Certificate for MACs.

1. Please install the App – Microsoft Remote Desktop from the MAC App Store:

PLEASE NOTE: You need to have the following updated MAC version – macOS Catalina

2. Go to the following link:

https://remoteaccess.labstats.com/middlesex-university-dubai (Please check the Step 2 above) to Download the RDP File.

Then open the downloaded RDP File with this App and follow the rest of the instructions to connect to the PC as mentioned above.

3. Now enter the credentials as following:

Username : STUDENTMDX\M00xxxxxx <M00xxxxxx – your MISIS or Student Number>

Password : <Dubai PC/WIFI Password>

Now click OK

Click Continue

Now it will directly connect to the Lab PC.

Click Allow (Top Left Security Notification)
