Observation: 93% of Arecanut app users in costal Karnataka looked at ‘Root grub’ more than 6 times in June which has highest correlation with rain fall
Insight: High probability that Root grub insect erupted
Observation: 68% of Pomegranate app users seems to be going for ‘crop-pruning’ in May (Brugabahar)
Insight: There is high probability of Pomegranate crop suffering from bacterial blight this year with onset of monsoon.
Observation: In north Karnataka Several horticulture app users started using Goat farming apps. Insight: There is high probability that North Karnataka farmers may start goat farming in coming years.

FAQs:• What is “Mobile agri app platform?Ans: It comprises suite crops specific mobile applications developed exclusively for Indian farmers (supports regional language). • What is the requirement to run these applications?Ans: Any basic android touch screen phone is enough to run these apps on farmer phone.• Does these apps require INTERNET?Ans: For downloading purpose it needs internet. Once downloaded it can work without internet (offline). • How it address the language barrier?Ans: Apps are designed to support regional language (Ex: Kannada for Karnataka). • What is the cost of smartphone and its penetration in rural India?Ans: Entry level smartphone in India costs Rs1999. Smart phone penetration
is gone high. 75 % of smartphone users got net connection. (Evident from NABARD app dissemination project). • Can illiterate farmer can use this app?Ans: Our application are build to break the literacy barrier and deliver the information. Apps are full of audio visuals with graphical interphase.• What is the size of each app?Ans: Size of each app vary between 25 to 30 MB. Farmer can take app of his interest or entire set of apps on his phone.

Ans: Farmer can download crops of his/her interest through online download. Farmer can transfer others just through simple blue tooth transfer/wifi transfer/flash transfer..
• Can one farmer transfer to other transfer?
Ans: YES. Farmer to farmer multiplier effect can be enabled.
• What is the impact &scalability?
Ans: Using farmer’s mobiles as tool of intervention for crop management, reduces the dependency on others. Empowerment is key.
• What is the sustainability and resource requirement?
Ans: App dissemination is not resource incentive. Farmer can download directly from playstore.
• What are the short term and long term benefit?
Ans: Short term benefit: Farmers are empowered with farming knowledge, package of practices, crops management knowledge which intern reduce the dependency on government department.
Long term benefits: Reduction in agri-input cost, increase in productivity as a result GDP growth, Digital literacy.
Instruction to download the demo app:
• Step 1: Search “Sugarcane English” in google playstore. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.agri.esugarcane&hl=en)
• Step 2 :Once downloaded the app, launch the app by clicking on “Open”• Step 3: Enter Name, Place & district etc in specified fields & Submit.• Step 4: You will get OTP password from our server.
• Step 5: Enter the onetime password received through SMS
• Step 6: You will be on home page of the sugarcane app.
• Step 7: Click on sub icon (ex: Disease and pest management) , click on any disease to explore how it works
