Project aims

• To help social services to develop business cases for funding from €120million government grants over 2 years

• To develop a decision support tool to identify and cost potential for:– reduced admission to residential care

– reduced cost of home care packages

– potential cost savings to the NHS (eg through reduced admissions to hospital)

What we’re addressing in the Balance of Care model

• Local policy direction:– support for development of strategies involving

telecare

• Demonstration of cost effective approaches:– telecare in the context of the organisation and

provision of other health and social services
